LOUIE GRAYSON CARTER was born and grew up in Winston-Salem, NC. He graduated in 1968 with a B.S. in Engineering from N.C. State University, in Raleigh, N.C. Upon graduation, he entered Emory University, in Atlanta, GA., where he received his Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in 1970.

Mr. Carter resides at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia, in a lovely lake-front home that he both designed and built, and is a Heritage Member of The Reynolds Plantation Golf Club (www.reynoldsplantation.com)

Graduating from Emory University, he began his business career with The Mead Corporation in Atlanta as a Senior Systems Analyst in the Information Sciences department, working eventually into the position of a Senior Financial Analyst for the Strategic Planning and New Ventures group. He left Mead in January, 1973 to pursue a new career in real estate.

After several years specializing in land acquisitions and commercial site locations, he began his own firm, STONEWOOD EQUITIES, LTD., in 1977. As founder and President of this development company, he has led all aspects of sales, marketing, and development and building of four subdivisions, one cluster home community, and one shopping center. In addition, he accomplished land assemblage and acquisition, successful rezoning, and implementation of a joint-venture for a 252 unit apartment development near the Emory University campus.

A subsidiary company, GRAYSON FAMILY HOMES, INC., was formed in 1984 and acted as exclusive sales and marketing agents for the the building company's products. This subsidiary recruited, trained, and implemented the on-site professional sales and marketing programs as well as researched, coordinated, and implemented designer, furnished model home presentations of the company's various product in the Metro Atlanta area.

He has and maintains a currently valid Georgia Real Estate Broker’s License, having been first licensed as a Georgia real estate agent in 1972.

Grayson Family Homes has built both “spec” houses and custom homes ranging in size from 1,600 sq.ft. to in excess of 11,000 sq.ft. in Atlanta, Ga., and at Reynolds Plantation.

Professional affiliations have included the National Association of Homebuilders--Atlanta, Sales and Marketing Council of the Atlanta homebuilders, National Association of Realtors--Cobb and Atlanta Boards, and Multi-family Housing Council. Mr. Carter has attended, and made national contacts, through National Association of Homebuilder and Kitchen and Bath/Multi-Family Housing shows and conventions in Atlanta, Dallas, and Washington, D.C. Currently, He is a member, and past Director of the Board of Directors of the Lake Oconee Area Builder's Association. He also is a Realtor member of the Lake Country Board of Realtors.
