Home Theater

This newly completed Home Theater is actually a retrofit of a former exercise room that wasn't being utilized.

After a redesign phase, we moved three doorways to reorient the access to the room and an adjacent closet.

We ended up with a 12'-6" x 22'-3" theater space and the former storage closet became a Kitchenette accesible from the theater.

The eight plush recliners situated on two risers assures viewing comfort and unobstructed views for everyone.

The screen is a whopping 92". The projector is a Yamaha DLP 1300 series that is fully compatible with all HD and HDMI programming. While cable is the primary source for video, it also features both DVD, VHS, and satellite capabilities. The sound system is a Polk Audio 7.1 Dolby Surround System.

All walls are 6" thick, insulated fully with spray foam. The ceiling also had spray foam applied to the floor system above, with R-30 fiberglass insulation added after the prewiring was accomplished in the ceiling of the theater. Once that was finished, we added 5/8" QuietRock over the existing drywall for further sound control.

The Kitchenette features a wet bar, microwave, undercounter regrigerator with icemaker, and a 1911 vintage popcorn maker. The cabinetry is Cherry.
